On the northwest coast of the Bodrum Peninsula, Yalikavak is 20 minutes drive from Bodrum.As you crest the hill past the old windmills the whole of Yalikavak is laid out before you, inviting you into the centre of the village which is set round a quaint harbour.
The restaurants in the harbour and along the sea front are well known throughout Turkey and popular with locals and tourists alike.
There is a small beach that is constantly being improved or you may like to sit in a waterside café and watch the world go by.
Several buildings in the village have been tastefully restored. A former water cistern has become an Art Gallery and a former olive press is now a kilim showroom where visitors are welcome.
The new Port Bodrum Marina is just 5 minutes walk from the centre and is already making a name as a great yachting base and THE place to shop on the peninsula.
