10 km from Marmaris, the moment Turunç comes into sight via the winding mountain road that threads its way down into the bay, it is obvious that this is a special place. The surrounding pine forested mountains literally plunge down to the sea offering safe swimming and crystal clear water or the past seven years has been the proud holder of the Blue Flag - An European award for the sea and beach cleanliness. The beach also has a shallow rake making swimming easy and safe for adults and children alike with a wide array of water sport activities at hand, including windsurfing, water-skiing, speedboat hire and scuba diving. Until recently it was only accessible by boat & yachts still visit frequently. Boat trips are available to and from Marmaris and to the next bay along 'Kumlubuk'.
Turunç retains a lot of its original village charm which is so refreshing for those seeking to taste and see authentic Turkey. Local Turkish restaurants and cafes run along the curve of the beach and the main street behind has a good selection of shops to supply you with all your holiday needs and souvenirs. There are cosy music bars - with a midnight curfew and limited discos, providing a lovely relaxed nightlife.
While quieter than Marmaris, all amenities are easily reached & there is regular public transport to Içmeler & Marmaris.
Twenty minutes drive to İIcmeler and Marmaris to all main ‘city’ facilities. This journey time will be even shorter when the new coastal road to Turunc is completed.
