Heading North of Bodrum Torba is the nearest village. It is only active during the summer months, when, due to its proximity to Bodrum it can get crowded. There is a sandy beach on one side and a less crowded pebbly beach on the opposite shore near the small working harbour. Being fairly enclosed and protected it has become popular with watersports enthusiasts.
On a hilltop to the east and above Torba there is a remarkably well-preserved Lelegian tomb, well worth the 1 1/2 - 2 hour climb.
House building is increasing as the village becomes more popular, but the complexes tend to be smaller in size all of which adds to the feeling that this little village is unspoilt despite it’s proximity both to Bodrum (10 minutes drive) and the airport road. The airport is 30 minutes drive.
