KOYCEGIZ: with its history, nature, lake and sea, is a paradise within paradise. Koycegiz is a wonderful small holiday lake district resort.. Koycegiz has untouched nature, citrus trees, incense (sigla) trees, (in Turkey only, Koycegiz has this tree species), 52 square kilometres of land and the marvelous Koycegiz Lake, surrounded by breathtaking panoramic mountain views. In Koycegiz, there are 2km of lake side promenade, a beach, and camping area surrounded by Incense trees.
Koycegiz lake is quiet until noon for canoe and rowing sports, but during the afternoon a breeze blows, making the conditions ideal for both windsurfing and sailing.
Koycegiz is one of the few places in the world where you can see the famous frankincense tree (Liquid amber). Also, Koycegiz and the surrounding environment is a protected area. The town is only 35km from Dalaman airport, 60km from Marmaris and 70km from Fethiye. You can find regular buses to all parts of the country

Koycegiz’s honey, thyme and citrus fruits are very famous. Koycegiz also houses a weekly market (every Monday). The market runs throughout the year, as Koycegiz is a working village, not just a tourist resort. Many Western Europeans have chosen to live here, both retired and those considering retiring. Koycegiz and the surrounding area has so much to offer, that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else in Turkey, so charming and utterly captivating.
Koycegiz is a mainly undiscovered traditional Lake Village of a population of approx. 9000. There are many excellent value properties in this area, which are far less expensive then the towns like Marmaris and Icmeler, it is becoming popular for people wanting a quieter area with lovely surrounding countryside and lake views. There are many beautiful coastal villages, outside of Koycegiz. Very good local facilities and just 35 minutes transfer from Dalaman. Also, Koycegiz is in between Dalaman and the Beach Resort of Akyaka. Akyaka is only 25 minutes drive away, so Koycegiz is central to most of the busier resorts like Dalyan and Akyaka Dalyan property for sale and Akyaka Property for sale are more expensive to buy then Koycegiz Property.
Koycegiz is a hidden paradise which lies at the Northern end of lake with the same name, where anyone can relax in freshness of environment. this unique environment is being preserved as a nature and wildlife sanctuary.
Koycegiz has an excellent public transport system, with many frequent buses to villages and towns, like Ortaca, Dalaman, Akyaka, Mugla, Marmaris and Fethiye. There are also the larger long distance coaches to take you to Izmir and Antalya Alls these services provide excellent value making it less expensive then traveling by car.
This town is very Turkish, which is the beauty of Koycegiz, it has a wealth of small shops with very helpful owners. You will not be pestered by over eager shop owners like some resort. Away from the obvious attractions, property and land prices in the area are far less expensive then the built up resorts.
Not many foreigners know that Koycegiz has one of the largest Monday markets in the district.
